Assistant Accountant – Accounts Payable at Aller Aqua Zambia Limited

A Fish Feed manufacturing company based in Siavonga is urgently looking to employ an Assistant Accountant – accounts payable who will be based in Siavonga, and available to start immediately.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that books of accounts are reconciled/ closed daily.
• Prepare payment vouchers for payment support.
• Ensure all relevant documents are in order to support stakeholder payment.
• Ensure petty cash for both Lusaka and Siavonga is replenished on time.
• Ensure the work is executed in accordance with accounting principles, policies, and processes regulated by IAS/IFRS (Accounting standards).
• Ensure supplier payments are prepared and processed within agreed terms.
• Ensure supplier reconciliations are prepared accurately and on time
• Ensure month-end close journals/postings are correct and on time. These include; accruals, prepayments, revaluations, currency fluctuations and depreciations.
• Ensure expenses are complete and posted on time.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations such as PAYE, NAPSA, and WHT.
• Resolve problems concerning all stakeholder’s accounts.
• Be involved in Inventory counts and make necessary adjustments after approval.
• Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of ad-hoc reports.

Qualifications

• At least ACCA II / CIMA II or other relevant business/accounting diploma is preferred
• At least three (3) years previous experience as an assistant accountant or related position.
• Knowledge of relevant software such as;
• Enterprise Resource Planning/ accounting software.
• Microsoft Office Programs.
