The company now seeks to employ suitable, energetic candidates to fill in a vacancy at ABBA farm.

AAZ is inviting suitable applicants to fill the following vacancy:

1. AUTO ELECTRICIAN (01)

JOB OVERVIEW: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for auto electrical maintenance and repairs on all vehicles and earthmoving machines.

REPORTING TO

Workshop Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Fitting new accessories such as satellite navigation and entertainment systems
  • Assembling and installing electrical and electronic systems in motor vehicles
  • Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to maintenance requirements
  • Attend to defects raised on pre-start reports, breakdown sheets and over-inspection reports
  • Perform equipment over-inspection on work done by apprentices and operatives where appropriate and provide feedback and guidance as required
  • Report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the supervisor
  • Provide relevant feedback to the foreman and co-workers regarding equipment performance and conditions
  • Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all equipment within area of responsibility
  • Ensure availability of machinery
  • Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
  • Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activities performed and availability of equipment
  • Adhere to policies and procedures
  • Perform all functions included in the above duties and responsibilities with due regard to the health, safety and the environment
  • Willing to work overtime, standby, shifts and Contops when required
  • Performs related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Certificate/Diploma in Auto Electrician or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License is an added advantage
  • Must have 3 years minimum experience

SKILLS 

  • Detail oriented and ability to work independently under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team mentality and a positive attitude

2. CHEF (01)

JOB OVERVIEW 

We are looking for a Chef to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our guests and employees. Oversees a restaurant’s kitchen by managing food preparations, deciding what dishes to serve and adjusting orders to meet guests’ requests. May assist in prep work, such as chopping vegetables, but more often will be involved in cooking specialty dishes. Chooses ingredients and designs a menu based on the seasonal availability of food items. Creates unique dishes that inspire guests to come back again and again to see what is new in the restaurant.

REPORTING TO

Hospitality Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
  • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
  • Cook food in a timely manner
  • Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
  • Inform wait staff about daily specials
  • Ensure appealing plate presentation
  • Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
  • Monitor food stock and place orders
  • Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  • Clean and arrange guest rooms to hotel standards for guest arrival
  • Clean and maintain common areas of the house
  • Perform laundry duties as necessary when need be
  • Stock and maintain housekeeping supply rooms
  • Ensure a high level of guests service is performed at all times
  • Assist guests with requests and questions as necessary
  • Report any damages or repairs needed to management

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • 2+ years culinary education.
  • 5+ years experience in similar position.

SKILLS 

  • Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices.
  • Proficient knowledge of human resources management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Available to work on call, shifts, after hours, over weekends and on public holidays.
