Description

• This role is a developing role that will provide exposure to the employee to new markets, economies and cultures, globally.
• The employee will spend 6 months (2 years in total) in four different geographic location, gaining exposure to their respective

  specialties while developing leadership capabilities.


• Complete prescribed learning interventions within set timelines. This will be a combination of e-learning and face-to-face 

   learning.
• Understand the new business market by researching the environment in which the business operates.
• This includes governance and political framework, consumer behaviour and by engaging key stakeholders, including Country

   Management committee members (with reference to assignments in Africa).
• Proactively takes on board feedback and actively manages their personal development, displaying a willingness to learn and

  operate with a continuous Improvement mind-set.
• Define career path, identify skills gaps and build a development plan to support career aspirations.
• Proactively reach out on an on-going basis to seek feedback and guidance from key stakeholders and clients, for support in

  personal development.
• Develop leadership capabilities by owning and driving projects, taking a proactive approach and willingness to learn and  

  develop by leveraging opportunities to support own development and deliver back into role.

 

Accountability: Business improvement

• Study the business operating model to identify opportunities for business improvement and develop action plans for

  implementation by business.
• Priorities in the respective countries and selecting a specific focus area.
• This will depend on available resources (funding, colleagues, etc.); key needs in their immediate communities and scope of  

   implementation.
• Demonstrate desired behaviours – Inspire, Be Bold & Collaborate and demonstrate
• leadership behaviours aligned to the Barclays Values
• Be a role model and ambassador of FLDP and demonstrate a willingness to be involved in additional ad hoc projects.

Accountability: Project Management
• Manage projects and cross- stream /global initiatives:
• Identify business needs/opportunities, formulate a business case, scope the project,
• Identify and allocate resources, identifying and manage stakeholders to implement the project.

Accountability: Stakeholder management
• Engage senior management in driving wider business opportunities that demonstrate long-term business return on 

  investment.
• Identify dependencies in all projects, meet key stakeholders and involve them in project meetings and manage

  accountabilities and escalations.

Essential/Basic Qualifications
  • Any Undergraduate qualification with a merit and above
  • Post Graduate students with less than 36 months post -graduation are also welcome to apply.
  • Awareness of legislation affecting the Bank and customers having the highest regard for confidentiality

Preferred

  • Detailed knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft tools as well as database management

Essential

  • Excellent use of Excel/database management
  • Good interpersonal skills that have been proven in a Business environment

Experience

  • Less than two years’ work experience for undergraduates
  • Less than 2 years’ experience for post graduate/MBA graduates
