Trade & Compliance Coordinator at Bayer Crop Science

Operations areas:

• Northern: Mkushi (Production/Shipping directly from farm activities)
• Southern: Lusaka (Production/Plant/Warehouse/Commercial Sales activities)
• All areas: Ship through Tunduma Border Post (Clearing of all shipments to Tanzania and Kenya)

Distances:

Mkushi to Tunduma – 730km

Lusaka to Tunduma – 1,000km

Lusaka to Mkushi – 300km

Volumes:

• Commercial seed to be exported from Zambia to Tanzania – 3,500 Mt (+/- 140 trucks) – T&C

Operations peak time brackets:

• Season 1: March – April (To northern areas in Tanzania – Arusha)
• Season 2: November – January (To southern areas in Tanzania – Mbeya)

Functions to be allocated to this position:

• T&C :
• Liaise with all stakeholders
• Assist with obtaining documents from Authorities for export per truck:
  • Export Permits
  • Phytosanitary certificates
  • OIC (Orange International Certificates)
  • COMESA certificates
  • SADC certificates
  • Non-GMO certificates



• Liaise with Government departments for documentation:


• SCCI


• ZARI


• ZRA


• Ministry of Agriculture


• Alternative contact for liaising with Clearing Agent


• Assist with co-ordination of Truck movements, Tracking, Clearing Agent at Tunduma Border and report issues


• Track and follow up on actual shipments and update Tracking File daily


• Liaise with truck drivers directly as needed


• Receive, Verify, GRV and Forward to Finance all related Courier, Transport and Clearing Agent invoices


• Co-ordinate Samples, Fumigation and Certification for Quarantine Samples to South Africa for testing


• Prepare Shipping Documentation and get GL approval from South Africa T&C prior to shipping
