JOB OPPORTUNITY – JOURNALISM MENTOR

BBC Media Action is the international development charity of the BBC. We are looking to recruit a Journalism Mentor for a maternity cover placement. The contract period will be for approximately five months. The dates, depending on availability, will be mid October 2018 mid-March 2019.

The overall purpose of the job is to build the capacity of media partners in the production of sexual and reproductive health focused radio and online programming. The roles will be based in Lusaka with frequent travel within Zambia therefore a valid driving license is highly preferred.

A minimum four years of professional work experience as an active radio producer and higher education in journalism, comrnunication or a related field is required. Candidates must have strong production and editorial skills. Candidates with a proven track record of delivering training and producing sexual and reproductive health related programming will be preferred. Experience of working within the community/ commercial radio sector and project implementation is an advantage.
