Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Lead at Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia

The incumbent designs, implements and oversees an integrated and results-based MEAL system that provide appropriate measure of project progress against agreed objectives.

Main duties

• Oversees the design and leads on the implementation of baseline, midline and end line surveys for the project and develop a knowledge management system to capture lessons learned for dissemination.
• Prepares for and oversees any research activity conducted by the country project.
• Supports the COP and DCOP along with the project team to develop SMART indicators and MEAL tools.
• Monitors project activities to ensure they are carried out in line with project procedures and adherence to donor and CIDRZ policies.
• Provides needs-based training for project and partner staff on MEAL tools and reporting frameworks to enable the team to implement the MEAL plan effectively.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health, research methods, statistics, social sciences or a related field required
• Eight to ten years of progressively responsible work experience in quantitative and qualitative research and monitoring methods
• Familiarity with programme monitoring activity design, capacity building in monitoring and evaluation of host government and reporting on large scale project progress
• Experience with USAID’s reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health and nutrition services framework and reporting system
• Experience with donor-funded development projects of a similar scale and scope, USAID preferred; Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
