Role specification for Accountant

• Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Preparation of daily petty cash reports for Management
• Preparation of monthly payroll
• Preparation of end of year financial statements, reports and payments
• Submission of VAT/SALES TAX and PAYE monthly returns
• Preparation NAPSA payments and collecting quarterly statements on behalf of the employees
• Ensure all transactions are entered into the Pastel system daily to update all statements
• Verify all cheques are deposited into the Company bank account
• Reconciliation for debtors/creditors
• Preparation of tax invoices and collection of money on behalf of the company
• Following up of bank deposits daily and filing relevant paperwork
• Processing of applications for staff loans and advances
• Preparation of bank reconciliation on monthly basis
• Preparation of variance analysis reports on a monthly basis
• Maintenance of the asset register

Qualifications

• Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
• Must have Diploma in Accountancy, ACCA level 2, CIMA level 2
• Must be a member of ZICA

Skills

• Proficiency in Pastel Accounting Software Package and Payroll/HR systems
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural setting and ability to prioritize work
• Must be a team player and demonstrate ability to carry out financial analysis
• Must have the ability to prepare budget and financial statements
