Position Summary:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for program quality assurance, designing and implementation of the child protection programs monitoring and evaluation framework and provide timely and relevant information to project stakeholders. This entails overseeing the design and processes for data collection tools, data collection, analysis and interpretation for different use by all stakeholders involved in all the projects. The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will ensure that the programs activities are implemented on time effectively and efficiently by all the stakeholders and implementing partners.  The Officer will report to the Program Manager- Kusamala for overall direction of the project as well as the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to M & E technical support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design align implement individual child protection projects monitoring and evaluation plans.
  • Spearhead the development of data collection tools and systems for effective monitoring and evaluation of all the projects. .
  • Train and mentor implementing partners and staff in data collection, analysis and interpretation for efficient and effective use of data to inform decision making process..
  • Provide leadership in documentation and knowledge management of all child protection projects .
  • Preparing feedback Reports on child protection activities to the Program Manager, implementing partners and government
  • Train staff on data capture and report preparation.
  • Management and maintenance of CMMB Zambia information systems.
  • Offer technical support on M & E matters as well as help in areas of indicators and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Help develop Annual Work Plans Budget.
  • Develop the overall framework for project M & E, annual project reviews, impact assessments, process monitoring, operations monitoring and lesson learned workshops.
  • Guide the process for identifying and designing the key indicators to record and report physical progress and to steer the process for designing the format of such progress reports.
  • Guide the process for identifying the key performance questions and parameters for monitoring project performance and comparing it with targets and need to design format for performance reports.
  • Setout framework and procedures for evaluation of Kusamala project activities.
  • Assist in developing plan for project related capacity building on M & E and for any computer based support that may be required.
  • Review Kusamala monitoring reports, analyze them for impact evaluation and to identify Supervise
  • Actively participate and contribute to the development of project reports and annual work plans.
  • Organize, coordinate and facilitate the development or revision of materials for trainings, workshops and meetings to address technical assistance needs and to support implementing community stakeholders.
  • Conduct any other duties as assigned by the CMMB Zambia, Country Office.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Grade Twelve Certificate holder
  • Bachelor of Arts in Demography and Social Sciences, relevant or equivalent experience.
  • Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation with over 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Fluent in the local language and English for day-to-day communications
  • Strong team player with very good interpersonal skills, self-motivated ability to work under pressure but still meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
