Our Zambia operation currently has the vacancy of Manufacturing Team Leader for dynamic individuals with energy and initiative, keen to impact from the outset. This position reports into the Unit Manager: Packaging. The incumbent will be responsible for checking and ensuring that team members monitor process input and outputs in order to obtain the desired results. Driving performance management practices as per the Performance Management Way – leading the development of team goals and carrying out team meetings and team goal review sessions. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that team members implement and adhere to divisional standards and verifies that team members carry out routine quality checks and analysis according to the work instructions. The incumbent may be required to work shifts.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out quality trend analysis to identify problems and decide on appropriate course of action to resolve issues
  • Ensure that waste reduction and process improvement goals are incorporated into team goals, and the team understands these goals.
  • Checking and ensuring that team members carry out required quality checks and that the information is recorded on the appropriate systems.
  • Review and sign off of shift performance (QCDSM) and ensuring that all required administrative tasks in support of the production team are carried out.
  • Communicate the production schedule, shift production and overall shift performance and other relevant business information to team members.
  • Conducting work practice maturity assessments and/or line walkabouts for own shift to ensure that best practices are being applied correctly and are entrenched
  • Ensuring that team members understand and adhere to the operational, quality and process standards, work instructions and maintenance schedules, work practice deployment plans and performance target

Skills, Experience & Education

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Three (3) years leadership experience in a FMCG.
  • Alternatively a qualified artisan with manufacturing experience.
  • Proven Leadership skills .
