Description

Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced persons to apply for the position of Inventory  Control Manager in the Clothes & Shoes Fundraising Project which operates second hand Retail Shops throughout the country. The project’s core objective is to raise funds for the DAPP programs in Zambia while also providing clothes and shoes to people at affordable prices. The position is tenable in Ndola.

Duties and Essential Job Functions 

  • Raise inventory reports for cases where there are variances between the calculated balance and the physical stock

  • Reconcile petty cash and cashier float

  • Record and sign on the shop/warehouse audit register of findings of each visit made

  • Checking the seal register at all shops/warehouse tally with the warehouse /supplier’s seals register to ascertain all deliveries from the warehouse/suppliers were received

  • Check the shop production register and confirm by physical counting of the pieces produced

  • Ensure that pull downs are sent back to the warehouse with proper documentation

  • Ensure that FIFO stock management system is used

  • File all reports related to the visits made and keep a file in the Administration office

  • Raise weekly stock valuation reports and calculate how long it would take to return the stock at the shop/warehouse

  • Analyse stock variances and report to the line managers on monthly turnover per location

  • Ensure that any shortages found after sport checks are reported
  • Required qualifications

    • Diploma or better in Inventory Control, Stock Management, or related field
    • Knowledge in legal and economic frame work for conducting commercial activities and international trade
    • Good knowledge of Inventory Management
    • Basic accounts knowledge is a must
    • Two (2) years experience in retail business
    • ITC literacy
    • Good communication skills and abilities
    • Fluency in English and public official languages
