The combination of the First Quantum and Inmet assets has created one of the world’s leading copper producers with a geographically diversified portfolio of high-quality operations and development projects in eight countries across five continents.
With a strategic plan to produce more than 1 million tonnes per annum of copper within five years, the Company is poised to become the largest, widely-held pure-play copper producer and one of the top five copper producers in the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, Implement and Maintain inspection and quality control systems, in order to maintain contractual obligations.
- Arrange and chair contractors site meetings.
- Oversee Road & Earthworks construction projects to ensure site requirements are met within safety and quality standards.
- Setup a certification system for construction quality control.
- Generate reports as and when requested by Management.
- Ensuring all safety procedure are enforced on site.
- Ensure compliance with the Mines Safety regulations.
- Coordinate / manage construction projects, plan and schedule works.
- Any duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma in Construction / Civil Engineering
- Member of EIZ
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Minimum of three years’ relevant experience in construction, earth moving, civil and roads in an open pit mining environment.
- Knowledge of Survey.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals in earth moving.
- Knowledge of drainage and drainage systems (Basic hydrology).
- Should be conversant with heavy equipment earth moving applications
- A team player and have the ability to work under intense pressure
