Good Neighbors International Zambia now invites applications from suitable qualified Zambian Citizens to fill the following vacant positions in Lusaka

Finance Assistant (1)

  • ACCA/ CIMA level 2 or ZICA Licentiate
  • Experience in Similar role working for an NGO or Company
  • Proficient in  MS Office/ Quick books
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
  • Must not be more than 35 years old.

Key Responsibilities

a) Records the accounting system and operation of GNZ.

b) Maintains ongoing communications with the Finance Team Manager by providing periodic financial and progress reports of the overall financial status.

c) Makes sure that all the necessary documents are in place and that approvals are duly obtained before payment is effected.

d) Supervises that all detailed financial transactions are registered and kept properly.

e) Makes sure that insurance and other fringe benefit payments are made on time.

f) Performs all other jobs assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.

g) Keeps custody of cash, petty cash funds and other cash items.

h) Maintains cash and bank book and records daily transactions as per the financial guidelines and balance cash float on hand with book of record.

i) Prepares payment vouchers, petty cash vouchers and receipt vouchers as per the financial guidelines.

j) Ensures that all collections are made against official receipts.

k) Maintains finances including accounts receivable, accounts payable, production of statements, database, and timely filing of reports with the Finance Team Manager and Country Director.

l) Compiles financial information, processes journal entries into various accounts, and reconciles reports and financial data.

m) Monitors program/project revenues and expenses for cost effectiveness of program.

n) Assist the Finance Team Manager and Country Director to develop and manage the annual budget including the operating budget and various contracts and program budgets.

o) Carryout other duties as assigned by the Country Director from time to time.
