Description:

The Curriculum Facilitator is a 5 month position to support Impact Network’s Academics Team in Katete during a key period of curriculum development and growth.

The consultancy consists of the following deliverables and responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary curriculum advisor at Impact Network during phase 1 of curriculum re-development.
  • Conduct consultations with Impact Network staff and teachers to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the current curriculum to draw out recommendations for further development and improvement.
  • Lead the work to create schemes of work and curriculum maps for teachers using a variety of resources, including Mwabu tablets and other applications.
  • Ensure that all curriculum resources developed are in line with the Impact Network’s Curriculum Framework and the Zambian National Primary School Syllabus and other government priorities.
  • Liaise with the National Curriculum Development Center for input, advice and approval of developed curriculum resources.
  • Supervise other curriculum staffs’ outputs and workflow to ensure high quality outcomes.
  • Additional tasks based on organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Candidates should have a college degree in Education in conjunction with 10+ years relevant work experience, ideally with curriculum development at the primary level.
  • Strong understanding of how to develop curriculum resources that will promote 21st century skills and align with government requirements.
  • Experience working with rural community schools and untrained teachers
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal in Cinyanja and English
  • Tech skills: Typing, E-mail, Word, Excel
  • Punctuality, reliability and strong attention to detail
  • Exceptionally organized with strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Duration of Consultancy

  • August 1st- January 1st (5 months full-time)

Terms of Compensation

  • Basic pay of 3000 Kwacha per month.
  • Transport, housing and meal allowances of 1000 Kwacha per month.
  • Travel expenses for work purposes provided.
  • Laptop for work purposes is provided.
