TECHNICAL ADVISOR – QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY IMPROVEMENT 

Overview: The Technical Advisor QA/QI – VMMC is responsible for the successful delivery of technical assistance and implementation of activities for all Quality assurance and Quality improvement for VMMC programs at Jhpiego supported health facilities. Working in close collaboration with Jhpiego provincial coordinators, the Technical Advisor will engage MOH leadership at various levels (National, Province and District levels) to institutionalize and strengthen QA/QI teams at various levels. The Advisor will be responsible for ensuring appropriate reproductive health counseling, linkage to care for clients with co-morbidities, appropriate procedures for both surgical and non-surgical male circumcision methods, post-operative care and counseling and management of adverse of events. The QA/QI Advisor will also be responsible for building capacity of staff to collect, analyze and interpret data for decision making. He will coordinate and support regular QI assessments at Jhpiego supported health facilities.

Responsibilities

 

  • Organize and Conduct  trainings of health care providers
  • Provide technical support and post-training follow up
  • Manage Adverse events including timely reporting to Jhpiego, MOH and the Donors
  • Prepare and Maintain trainer and participant records and reports
  • Participate in planning and coordination of VMMC activities to ensure regular and effective technical support to Jhpiego supported MOH health facilities providing voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services.
  • Represent Jhpiego at National QA/QI Technical Working Group
  • Ensure delivery of quality VMMC services at all times at Jhpiego supported sites
  • Provide technical Support to implement Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement plans at Jhpiego supported health facilities.

 Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Surgery and with at least five years’ experience
  • Skills training as a trainer by Jhpiego will be an will be an added advantage
  • Strong leadership and technical capacity to support service delivery, National, provincial and district levels;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with efficiency and diplomacy, as part of a team effort
  • Demonstrated presentation and oral communication skills
  • He/she must be computer literate in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Microsoft Outlook calendar
  • Be able to handle and analyze data and process documents/reports.
  • Valid practicing license with the Health Professions Council of Zambia and/or General Nursing Council
