EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Following the May of 2020 compliant deadline for the new Employment Act of 2019, The Lusaka Institute of Applied Sciences (LlAS) is in the process of adjusting itselfaccordingly hence the following positions have been floated to the public tar fresh recruitments; and the college is seeking for the services of qualified and skilled individuals to take up the following positions on full time and Short Term Contracts.

Lusaka Institute of Applied Sciences has over 15 years’ experience of training health professionals at Diploma level and has up to date, qualified over 5,200 Registered nurses and Clinical Officers. Considering the factors of growth and changing Stakeholder environment being experienced across the country, a number of opportunities and challenges have emerged with this phenomenon. Hence the College has embarked on a new strategy to maintain its progress. In view of this, the College is therefore seeking the services of a selfless goal oriented, qualified and skilled individual to take up the following senior management position on full time basis:

COLLEGE REGISTRAR – Salary Scale LIAS02

In this College, the office of the College registrar is ranked at the level of the General Manager and as such, the following are a must-fulfil-set of requirements for the candidate:

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUlREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in any relevant Management discipline.
  • Bachelor of Art/Science degree in any Education/Health Science Discipline respectively
  • 5 year’s experience on a management position is a primary requisite

NECESSARY SKILLS and PROVEN EXPERIENCE

  • A team worker with strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication and organising skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional planning, monitoring and controlling skills
  • Flexible budgeting skills and should at least be able to manage the College within an approved budget

GOAL ON THE FIRST ASSIGNMENT

  • Prepare and Build the capacity ofthe College for an upgrade

SUMMARY OF CORE DUTIES

  • Manage the Institution’s policies
  • Design strategy, set goals and supervise Heads of Departments
  • Approve finance and Control budgets
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the College
  • Ensure high performance of staff and students
  • Co-ordinate with Stakeholders
  • Represent the College before the Management Board

This position reports to the LIAS Board Chairperson

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT – Clinical Medicine on salary Scale LIAS04

This is a senior management position and the bearer of the office reports to the College Registrar.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and REQUlREMENTS

  • Medical Licentiate degree
  • BA degree in Development Studies/any other relevant management discipline
  • 5 years postgraduate exposure

SUMMARY OF CORE DUTIES

  • Strategically draw annual plans for the department
  • Administer the training policies for the faculty
  • Monitor students’ learning performance through designed tools
  • Draw the annual budget for the department
  • Supervise the daily operations ofthe department
  • Co-ordinate with the Administration office to ensure high performance of staff
  • Produce and submit monthly and bi-annual Departmental reports to the office of the Registrar

(Full time members of staff are also required to re-apply for the positions)
