  • Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company Limited is the provider of water and sewerage services in Chingola, Mufulira and Chililabombwe. The Company invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position at Head Office in Chingola:-

DIRECTOR HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATION (x1) – Head Office.

Job Purpose

  • To ensure that administrative/support systems and structures are working  effectively—in terms of achieving the short, medium and long term objectives of the Company, as well as being cost effective.
  • To develop and implement effective human resource strategies policies procedures and practices, which support the achievement of the Company’s business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Senior and Line Managers in developing and
    implementing value adding human resource strategies, policies and
    procedures.
  • Contributes to the achievement of MWSC’s business objectives by planning, and ensuring efficient and effective delivery and evaluation of training and development programmes, and provides advice on training and development aimed at improving the competence of Company staff.
  • Develops and implements policies and programmes to enhance employee welfare.
  • Attends to industrial relations matters to promote industrial harmony and high productivity in the Company.
  • Implements effective human resource and succession plans to ensure that the Company has the right number of staff, with the right skill mix and placed in the rightjobs at the right time.
  • Implements and monitors a Performance Appraisal System that focuses on increasing the effectiveness of MWSC, by improving, recognizing and rewarding good employee performance.
  • Ensures that disciplinary cases are promptly and consistently processed and disposed off to uphold the principles of natural justice and impartiality.
  • Responsible for recruitment and selection of staff, to ensure that the  Company attracts individuals with skill levels and experience necessary to achieve business objectives.
  • Implements HIV/AIDS policies and programmes aimed at mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS in the Company.
  • Implements compensation policy and programmes that attract, motivate and retain the caliber of staff required for the achievement of Company objectives.
  • Contributes to the Company’s cost effectiveness by ensuring that human resource activities are always within approved budget.
  • Supervises, appraises, coaches, trains, disciplines and motivates  subordinates in order to achieve or exceed departmental objectives thereby contributing to achievement of the MWSC mission
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Managing Director from time to time

Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Degree in Human Resource Management/ PublicAdministration or any other  Social Sciences
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and/or Master’s Degree in any Social Science will be an added Advantage
  • Minimum 8 years in a reputable organization
