Description

As part of the Management team, the incumbent will be responsible for the Financial, Risk Management and Administrative functions of the Organisation while ensuring achievement of the Company strategic objectives.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with various laws and regulations and corporate governance requirements.
  • Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance and Accounting Functions of the organization.
  • Establish and maintain strong relations with all relevant stakeholder i.e. Group Companies, Tax Authorities, Regulators, Suppliers, Funders, Bankers etc.
  • Managing the process of budgeting, financial forecasts and overseeing the preparation of all relevant financial reports.
  • Advising on long term business and financial planning that supports the company’s strategic direction.
  • Develop performance measures and monitoring systems.
  • Company strategic planning and management.
  • Revenue and capital expenditure management ensuring profitability and cost control.
  • Ensure general ledger integrity at all times.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.
  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems.
  • Staff performance management and development.
  • Treasury Management; capital raising, ensuring sufficient liquidity at all times and effective asset and liability management.
  • Overseeing internal and external audits and timely preparation of the annual financial statements.
  • Tax planning and management.
  • Overseeing the Administration functions of the Organisation including fixed asset administration.
  • Monitoring of branch financial and non-financial performance to ensure optimal return and efficiency.
  • Development of relevant financial and risk management policies and involvement in developing company wide policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Full ACCA/ CIMA.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Financial Management preferably in Financial Services i.e.
  • Banking  and/ or Microfinance with at least 3 years in a supervisory position.
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
  • MBA will be an added advantage.
