HEAD INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
1. Purpose of the Job
To provide leadership to a group of infrastructure IT specialist, development and project delivery teams.
2. Key Responsibilities
a) Develop, test, manage and implement robust departmental and organizational business Continuity plans.
b) Ensure that controls are in place with regards to the security of information and Implement strategic solutions to problematic areas within the environment.
c) Identify and anticipate future supplier needs, as well as projecting current supplier costs and performance.
d) Oversee the development and implementation of the Accelerated Digital Banking Transformation Programme.
e) Provide accurate and reliable business intelligence information together with analyzing trends and data for better business decisions.
f) Design strategies for database management system and set standards for all application development, programming, and security.
g) Maintain, design and support existing database and architecture by applying knowledge of database management systems.
h) Ensure effective Financial and Resource Management
i) Provide Management reporting on ongoing development projects
j) Monitor project progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met in accordance with Project Management principles.
k) Oversee the design and modification of the digital channels in line with user needs.
l) Monitors progress and holds people to account for delivery, highlighting good practice and effectively addressing underperformance.
m) Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
3. Qualifications and Experience
a. Full grade 12 certificate
b. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field. A MBA qualification will be an added advantage
c. Ten (10) years’ proven service delivery experience in the Banking/ ICT Industry of which 5 years should be in a leadership role.
d. Extensive knowledge in Management practices, skills and concepts, administration, project control, and budgeting.
