JOB DESCRIPTION FOR

LODGE AND BUSINESS MANAGER

Job Purpose

To oversee the operational aspects of the unit in respect of the Lodge, and guide the unit to optimize revenues, profitability and growth.

Job Specifications (Duties and Responsibilities

Managerial

  • The Lodge Manager will advise on the procurement needs of the OYDC lodge Plan, forecast, and budget the revenues & cost for the unit.

  • Implement strategies to achieve a larger market share and attract new segments, for the unit

  • Implement systems and procedures that achieve higher cost efficiency and guest Satisfaction.

  • Implement the annual plan using various strategies and frameworks, linking the unit’s objectives to the overall institution strategy.

  • Constantly benchmark & innovate products & services in line with changing customer Expectations.

  • Drive a Performance culture through all levels of employees in the unit.

  • Forge positive relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Operational

  • She/he shall be responsible for the impeccable appearance of the bedrooms as well as public areas of the accommodation site

  • Measure & monitor all parameters & attributes against pre-determined targetS

  • Measure improvements in satisfaction ratings in the various aspects of service

  • Monitor complaints & take measures to ensure complaint reduction.

  • Monitor rooms market share & to improve revenues against budget & previous years’ Performance.

  • Ensure optimal staffing levels & Rooms to Staff ratios.

  • The lodge manager shall be responsible for the marketing  of the lodge working closely with the marketing manager to ensure that more external  clients are using the facility

    Maintain high standards of hygiene & sanitation in & around the unit.
  • Qualifications and Personal Attributes

  • Bachelors /masters in Hotel Management and  or Business Management equivalent

  • Thorough knowledge of all hotel operations.

  • Excellent knowledge in Sales & Marketing, Finance, and IT.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Must be computer literate

  • At least 3 years of experience in hotel operations.
