The Role

To lead the development, planning, coordination and roll out of agriculture markets campaign for Oxfam in Southern Africa (SAF).

What we are looking for

We are looking for an individual who is dynamic, charismatic and credible leader, with the following:

 Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Considerable proven experience in leading the production of policy, research and campaign outputs including strategies, reports and analysis and other documentation
  • Strategic thinker, able to analyse and solve complex problems;
  • Proven experience in advocacy and/or campaigning work in Sothern Africa
  • High interest in technology especially digital campaigning
  • Ability to support and influence others and experience in working in multi-cultural teams
  • Proven ability analysing and communicating complex information to diverse audience
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high time demand environment
  • Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully and creatively
  • Strong working knowledge of the dynamics of agriculture markets in Southern Africa and key players therein
  • Experience and understanding of key policy and programme areas linked to smallholder agriculture markets
  • Proven experience in strategic project oversight and coordination of complex projects and multi country programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of public speaking and representing an organization in senior level forums
  • Experience in mainstreaming gender and supporting the design of programmes with a strong focus on women economic empowerment and gender justice
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including reporting, facilitation and representation
  • Experience in providing advisory support to both senior managers and project staff
  • Well-developed ability to facilitate learning and knowledge management.
  • Experience managing a network of relationships at a distance

Minimum Qualification

  • Relevant academic qualifications preferably in Agriculture Economic, Rural Development, Market development, Economics, International Development/ trade etc.
