Description

Society for Family Health is recruiting for the position of Senior Research Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to be based in Lusaka. This is for a 3 months specific task contract. The Senior Research Monitoring and Evaluation Officer spearheads the data management/monitoring, data analysis, evaluation, reporting for the PMI Vector Link project’s Insecticide-Treated Net (ITN) distribution and research portfolio. S/he plays a role in showing performance of the projects and promoting of key learnings for the improvement of the project and for wider leaning of the organisation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a focal person for collection, processing and use of program data on ITN misuse and ITN distribution to support improvements in program functioning and results;
  • Record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe and accessible way;
    Contribute to the development of research protocols and tools;
  • Collaborate closely with other Vector Link M&E staff (including partner staff focused on Indoor
  • Residual Spraying) to ensure integrated vector control approach and consistency across project M&E reporting
  • Provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to relevant project staff and
  • Coordinate with all partners intervening in the area of ITN monitoring, evaluation and research.
  • Update annual Research Plans;
  • Coordinate of surveys and evaluates activities working with SFH, local research organisations or universities and PSI/Regional;
  • Facilitate communications among SFH, Local Research Organizations, various stakeholders and PSI/Regional.
  • Perform study scheduling, conduct literature searches and prepare research manuscripts and research presentations.
  • Coordinate planned dissemination of research findings.
  • Ensure quality of the data by random verifications and validations;
  • Extract program data from Management Information System (MIS) and perform complex analysis and strategic data analysis;
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis and prepare materials incorporating all available program data into concise databases, spreadsheets, and documents;
  • Assist project staff in designing, coordinating and conducting project evaluations and
    Present information arising from data analysis.
    Identify, improve, and create linkages between the public and private sector to facilitate the collection of relevant ITN program data;
  • Organize, plan, and help facilitate annual consensus building workshops with government and partners that result in the issuance of annual program estimates for key indicators;
  • Provide technical support to program staff and partners in the area of research monitoring and evaluation;
  • Support communications team in the design and implementation of new innovation research studies;
  • Assist key stakeholders in determining technical assistance needs and facilitate/coordinate arrangements for providing requested support.
    Identify training needs for Research Analysts/Associates in order to build capacity for high quality and timely research within the SFH research unit and;
  • Management  of the team to ensure that team plans are delivered on time
    Document lessons learned and distribute topically relevant documents to stakeholders and
    Support preparation of suitable internal reports and communication to management and program staff to facilitate project monitoring and activity planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or related degree
  • Registered member with the Zambia Monitoring and Evaluation Association (ZAMEA) and Certification in M&E would be an added advantage.
