The Southern Provincial Health Office under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Project through a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking for eligible, self-motivated and qualified applicants for the positions listed below for the various levels (Provincial, District, Facility and Community)

(A) PROVINCIAL LEVEL

JOB TITLE: COMMUNITY COORDINATOR (01 POSITION)

Purpose: The Position is part of the project management team whose main responsibilities will be to build and strengthen the District and Facility level capacity to deliver quality HIV services at community level by engaging all key community structures and implement the various DSD Models in the Province. The Position Holder will Coordinate District structures to engage key stakeholders in the community as well as community structures based at facility level.

Responsibilities:

  • Build capacity of the District Health Office teams to manage the community component of the HIV services
  • Provide technical support and oversight in implementing the DSD Models across the Province
  • S/he will work with other staff within the ministry functionaries to guide health facilities, tracking progress against performance indicators at community level as part of the project’s Performance
  • The jobholder will work collaboratively with other staff within the ministry and project staff to build local capacity on implementation of special initiatives (e.g. Differentiated Service Delivery (DSD)
  • S/he will work with the provincial, district, and hospital technical leads for HIV programs to plan and monitor implementation of activities and ensure that CDC-supported activities are responsive to the national strategies for the areas;
  • The jobholder will be responsible for finding creative solutions to challenges identified at sites and Provide targeted and data-driven mentorship to staff for HIV care services,

Qualifications:

  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with Five (5) O’ Levels
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences
  • Preferred experience of 3-5 years working in HIV settings coordinating such works
  • Outstanding written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong experience preparing reports.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of social media and other basic social marketing platforms.
