Tyre King is urgently seeking the services of a qualified, professional to fill the position of Manager-Battery Sales. Our company is one of the leading, specialized automobile Tyre retailers in Zambia currently operating in fifteen (15) Tyre sales and fitment outlets in Zambia. We are, therefore, seeking to recruit the following professional to join our Head office, Management team.

Purpose of Job:

To contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of a business strategy that maximizes the Battery sales net profit by driving sales activities in branches and wholesale outlets. The Battery Manager will ensure that workshop employees are responsive to customer needs and will provide technical leadership to branch battery point persons on a daily basis.

Some of the main duties;

  • Work with Retail Manager and other Heads of Function to influence the creation and communication of Company Battery Strategy, business priorities and targets for the branch teams and ensures there are systems in place to enable branch managers to receive the information in a timely manner.
  • Develop a working relationship with wholesalers and other partners and operate in accordance with company policies to secure the best cost in battery services and delivery distribution when appropriate.
  • Liaise with Branch Managers on matters relating to day to day battery operations at all branches including strategic planning of resources.
  • Provide technical support to branch managers/sales and workshop teams timely and finding solutions to customer requirements and complaints.
  • Ensure maintenance of all Battery equipment and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Train Branch Managers and staff through coaching, mentoring as required from time to time.
  • Routinely meet or communicate with Branch on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as appropriate to review progress on battery targets and results.
  • Assertively drive branches to maximize battery sales and total potential through sales best practices, training and support.
  • Generate ideas about future battery sales activities in-line with strategy while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the market place, competitors and battery sales trends.
  • Identify and optimize battery services promotional opportunities, ensuring these are coordinated through the RM as part of wider TK promotions and campaigns.
  • Communicate and promote new battery products and services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.

  • Minimum Diploma in Sales & Marketing
  • 5 years’ experience in Retail battery management, Battery Sales Promotion and Marketing in a reputable organization.
  • Knowledge of Battery Management systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Computer literate
  • A fully paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM)
  • Must have a driving license for both manual and automatic vehicles.
