Description

ZCF the Apex body of the Cooperative movement in Zambia invites applications from the position of Transport and Logistics Officer.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation activities within the Federation.

Reporting lines

The job holder shall report to the Director General.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing budgets, organizing transportation schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties.

  • Sourcing for business and liaising with customers.

  • Allocating and recording resources and movements on a transport system.

  • Communicating effectively with clients and responding to their requirements.

  • Booking sub-contractors when required and ensuring they deliver within agreed term
  • Qualifications

    • Full Grade 12 School certificate
    • Advanced Diploma in Logistics & Transport
    • Mechanical skills will be an added advantage.
    • Should have served in a similar position or equivalent with 3 years’ experience
    • Fleet Management skills.
    • Ability to train and Educate Others
    • Ability to prepare/Administer Budgets, Resources and People
    • Economically, Efficiently and Effectively
    • Must have knowledge of both Local and Intemational Transportation requirements.
    • Able to work long hours and under pressure
