Zanaco PLC is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Products & Channels Department at Head Office: –

 

INSURANCE PRODUCTS SPECIALIST (X1)

 

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for product development, driving growth and sales for the assigned Bancassurance products.

 

Under the supervision of the Insurance Product Senior Specialist, the following are among the Job’s Key Responsibilities: –

  • Adhere to the Bank’s Product Management Process (PMP) in managing the entire product lifecycle of assigned Bancasurance products.
  • Devise and recommend strategies for driving sales performance aimed at assisting the sales teams achieve overall sales objectives for Bancasurance products
  • Identify basic needs of customers and develop relevant insurance products and services
  • Participate in various branch initiatives, including seminars and campaigns, to maximize insurance coverage and penetration to Bank customer base.
  • Assist the sales team to resolve insurance products related challenges and catalogue all challenges for product enhancement and or implementation of remedial measures.
  • Provide specialist support and service to sales staff relating to Bancassurance products and incorporate industry best practice and latest trends
  • Gather regular and timely feedback on product performance and conduct analysis for management decision making
  • To strictly follow Bank policies and procedures and be fully compliant
  • To follow detailed procedures of the delegated duties assigned above. Apply the results in influencing the direction that other product departments take as well as informing decisions of the business.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by management.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT

  • External: Service Providers e.g. Insurance Providers
  • Internal: All Divisions

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 Credit or above, mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.
  • Degree in Business or a relevant field or professional qualification from a recognized university.
  • At least four (4) years’ experience in Banking and Insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of insurance product trends and competitive activities and be able to react and identify opportunities in response to the changing landscape
  • Familiarity with international best practices and global trends in the sector
  • Technical knowledge in business finance tools, products and methodologies (sales management, CRM, issuing & acquiring, credit scoring, collections, product development, etc.)
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory issues typical for country banking system
