Description

WorldFish is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and energetic team player who will provide support in IT, and Data Management to the WorldFish, Zambia Office, field offices and remotely supporting the Malawi office when need arises. The Data and IT specialist will be responsible to assist the team in troubleshooting and performing IT related routine operations as well as supporting the office data and asset management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in setting up and maintenance of desktop and notebooks, including hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Carry out operation procedures which include backup, antivirus and other security strategies.
  • Act as a liaison person for vendor hardware and software support and manage licenses inventory.
  • Provide guidance on IT equipment/application tools based on user requirements and best fit for system operation.
  • Actively participate in various IT initiatives, development and execution of standard IT policies in the office, service level agreements, disaster recovery procedures.
  • Assist developing and maintaining Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) management system within the Zambia Office for all the projects.
  • Support Data collection and updating in the system and Provide data management training to staff in the country office.
  • Support organisation asset management.
  • Perform any other duties as may be required from time to time.

Requirements

This job is open to nationals applicants with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in IT or Computer Science from any accredited institution or a Degree in Business Administration plus Certification in Information Technology or related field are encourage to apply.
  • At least 3 years working experience with an International Non Governmental Organisation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suits.
  • Knowledge of Monitoring & Evaluation Data Management systems.
  • Exposure to Local Area Network technology, wired and wireless.
  • Possess strong technical skills in desktop and notebook troubleshooting and understanding of standard office procedures.
  • Working experience on disaster recovery procedures.

Our Offer

This position will be based at WorldFish’s office in Lusaka Zambia. Interviews are expected to be held in June 2019 and only shortlisted candidate will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence as soon as possible for an initial 2 years fixed term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding situation.
