I. POSITION INFORMATION

POSITION TITLE: SUPERVISOR SECURITY SERVICES
JOB GRADE: ZA3
REPORTS TO (TITLE): MANAGER HR & ADMINISTRATION SERVICES
LOCATION: ZAMBIA
DIVISION/SECTION: ADMINISTRATION

II. JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager HR & Administration Services, The Supervisor Security Services will be responsible for Administering security policy and procedures of the Company, which is designed to prevent and control security risks and unlawful interferences.

III. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the security operations are as per the security standards of Zambia Airways, National Security program, government legislations and other regulatory bodies;
  • Prevents, detects and investigates offences committed within the Airline system;
  • Establishes a clear order of command in the security structure to ensure the security protection of Zambia Airways customers, personnel and assets, from unlawful acts;
  • Ensures an effective risk analysis, threat assessment and response capability are developed to match the level of threat. Liaise with government authorities and law enforcement agencies to coordinate appropriate response;
  • Regarding flight operations security, is responsible to ensure, but not limited to, security of aircraft, passenger, crew, baggage, cargo, catering, handling of unruly passengers and deportees and threat management and ensure counter measures are per Zambia Airways Security Policy;
  • Initiates special security measures during periods /instances of increased security threat.
  • Provides specialized advice to senior management in all security functions;
  • Provides confidential report on security survey of Zambia Airways operational security activities and produces confidential technical reports;
  • Analyzes security related risks of the company and develops proactive security measures;
  • Ensures that all reported security related incidents are investigated, and timely corrective action is taken;
  • Develops and maintains security database to help monitor and analyze trends;
  • Establishes security reporting systems that provide timely and free flow of security related information;
  • Monitors best industry practices and improves company security procedure with aim of maintaining sound security standard;
  • Maintains effective liaison with law enforcement agencies such the Transportation Security Administration (TSA);
  • Ensures that patrolling of assigned posts, gates, buildings, installations, aircraft and all properties of the company and its customers are coordinated and carried out efficiently in the assigned shift;
  • Ensures that safety and security regulation are being followed by all, concerned;
  • Conducts surprise checks to ensure posts, guard gates, buildings, installations, Aircraft and all properties of the Company are secured;
  • Assures that all security officers are always vigilant in their assigned duties and are in their proper uniforms and their general disposition is to expect standard of behavior and appearance;
  • Takes disciplinary measures as necessary in consultation with Manager HR & Administration;
  • Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

IV. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in any relevant field of studies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in airlines or related areas with at least 2 years. management experience as Supervisor or equivalent level.
